You're invited to get the buzz on bees and find out why they're actually very important in our daily lives later today at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden.
If you've ever just wanted to learn more about bees and what they do, today's Walk and Talk is probably something you'll want to check out.
It's called "What's the Buzz: All About Bees," and it starts at 11:30 a.m.
Jake Osborne will be at the Garden to share his knowledge about those infamous black and yellow insects.
He's got a pretty interesting background; Osborne's actually been studying bees for his entire life.
According to organizers, he's also worked with mentors from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, as well as right here in Owensboro.
Some of them are scheduled to share their thoughts as well today.
Even though most of us aren't huge fans of bees, they actually play an important role in our lives.
The goal of today's Walk and Talk is to show how much we depend on bees.
They're in charge of several different things, such as pollinating our crops and flowers.
That's just a tiny snapshot that shows why bees are important in our world.
If you'd like to try to snag a last-minute spot for today, you can call the Garden at 270-852-8925.
