A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans roadway rehabilitation work along the Wendell Ford-Western Kentucky Parkway in Muhlenberg County starting on Monday.
KYTC officials say the rehabilitation work project, to include asphalt paving and other improvements, will extend along the Western Kentucky Parkway from mile point 45.95 to mile point 52.535, a distance of 6.585 miles.
Motorists should be prepared to encounter one lane traffic in this extended work zone. Caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are working along the roadway in close proximity to traffic flow.
Motorists should be alert for a reduced work zone speed limit with double fines for citations and an enhanced enforcement presence.
Officials say the work is expected to take about four to six weeks to complete, with weather permitting.
