Food vendors have been preparing all day for the big crowds expected for the fireworks show on Evansville's riverfront.
ShrinersFest opened at 9:00 Thursday morning and some people decided to take advantage of it.
Monte Shouse brought out his daughter to get an early start on the 4th of July fun.
"We're just walking around, enjoying ourselves," says Monte. "Going to ride rides as soon as they open."
This is the first time ShrinersFest is being held on Independence Day and vendors spent the morning prepping for the evening rush.
The owner of Sweet Delicious Kettle Corn out of Pike County tells 14 News that she brought extra of everything.
"I think it will be ten times what we normally have," says Kelly Mabrey. "We stacked over today, so hopefully we have enough to accommodate them."
The fireworks show starts at 9:00 Thursday night and right before that, you can catch an air show starting around 8.
