Mad Max's Ride for the Kids presents Riley's with big check

Posted: Updated:

Deaconess Riley's Children Services got a big check on Tuesday.

Mad Max's Ride for the Kids presented the clinic with a check for nearly $8,000, raised from a Poker Run that was held in May.

Organizer, John Maxwell, says this is the 6th year for the ride, and to date, they've raised more than $140,000 for Riley's.

"Just trying to get something going here in Southern Indiana for the people, for the kids and families. Let people know that we do have a Riley's here in Evansville," Maxwell said.

"It gives you goosebumps because this is all about giving back to the community and really helping the kids," said Linda White, the President and CEO of Deaconess Health System.

The group also raised money through the raffle of a Harley Sportster.
