Employees at the humane society tell 14 News that a woman said she was passing by the dumpster when she heard whimpering. Inside, she found four puppies, two boys and two girls, no more than a few weeks old.
The puppies are actually at the vet getting spayed and neutered. They're getting some TLC from the shelter, but an animal control officer says they were almost starved when the woman brought them in.
"They were not in horrible shape, but we believe they have worms. They were almost to the point where they were starved. They were pretty dirty, we gave them a bath. We just sent them to the vet this morning to get checked out," animal control officer Tim Williams says.
As soon as the shelter makes sure they're healthy, they will be able to be adopted. Click here for more information.
