The 10th Annual Hadi ShrinersFest on Evansville's downtown riverfront will begin with a fish fry on Friday evening at 5:00.
Buttons cost $5 each and, unlike last year, they are not needed to enter that event. However, on Saturday, July 6 and on Sunday, July 7, they will become a necessity. The proceeds will help to fund the air show, which will occur on July 6 and then again on July 7 from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M..
Dale Thomas, the ShrinersFest spokesman, says that Friday will be a busy day on the riverfront. The tables and chairs will be arranged in the parking lot for the fish fry and a live band will be performing on the stage.
Although Thomas is excited for Friday, but he is also eager for Saturday's events to begin.
"We have a 'Rolling on the River' car show. We hope to have 200 to 250 cars lined up on the riverfront. It is not too late to participate. You can come on Saturday morning and sign up to be in the car show," said Thomas. "We will also have a bike show going on and a poker run."
Riverside Drive will be closed for the event beginning on Friday and it will remain closed until sometime during the day Monday for clean-up.
