Hopkins County residents who live on poorly marked private roads will soon have new signage to aid first responders in identifying their locations.
The transportation committee has identified over 130 private roads containing multiple homes.
Hopkins County officials are working to install signage which would help first responders locate residences in case of an emergency.
"Just general confusion, if you've got three streets with the same name you know it takes us quite a bit to make sure we know exactly which one we're going to," says Jon Luck. "If we get sent to the wrong address, (it) just puts up farther away from where we need to be."
Officials say this $21,000 project should take about two years to complete.
