Suspects arrested in Garvin Park Pool vandalism

Posted: Updated:

Evansville Police have taken a couple of juveniles into custody in a case of vandalism that closed a local public pool.

Authorities believe three teenagers jumped the fence and threw several heavy objects in Garvin Park pool.

Investigators still believe that there might be three more suspects in this case, all six being juveniles.

Due to age, EPD are not releasing names in the arrest.

Officials offered a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the Garvin Park Pool vandalism.

No word if that played a role in the arrest.

Because of last week's vandalism, the liner had to be repaired.

Officials still hope to have it reopened by the end of this week. The pool is being refilled, and if the water tests okay, it should be ready by the weekend.

Officials say a surveillance system will be installed in Garvin Park to help prevent more costly vandalism. There is a reward to help catch whoever threw a table, chairs and other items in the pool.
