With the Web.com Tour underway at Victoria National, the sponsor, hosted a forum for small business owners Thursday morning.
Web.com is an Internet marketing service that caters to small and medium size businesses.
Thursday seminar was free.
Small business owners learned how to take advantage of social media, and how to make their website visible to search engines.
As one manager tells us, there is a common misconception among owners that as long as you have an online presence you're fine.
"People have the old philosophy, 'If you build it they will come' and that's simply not true. If your website is not optimized properly, you will not be found on search engines. You will not be found by your potential customers. There is a lot of science behind getting a good website for your business and we are here to help provide that," says forum manager Lane Teitelbaum.
Web.com will have a similar seminar next year as well.
