EFD reminding residents about firework laws

In an average year, there are more fires on July 4th than any other day of the year. As usual, the Evansville Fire Department is urging residents to be careful!

Vanderburgh County adopted Indiana code for firework usage. It states that fireworks can be used:

(A) between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and two hours after sunset on June 29, June 30, July 1-3, and July 5-9.

(B) between the hours of 10:00 A.M. and midnight on July 4th.

Dan Grimm with the EFD is reminding folks that they must have the property owner's permission to set off fireworks. Also, those using fireworks are liable for any damage done to nearby property.
