Several Tri-State girls are going to be featured in a special HBO documentary titled "Miss You Can Do It."

It follows the girls for two years as they compete in pageants that proves beauty is more than just ball gowns and perfect hair.

Hope Fuller has Down Syndrome and Ali Shanks has Spina Bifida. The pageant was started by former Miss Iowa Abbey Curran, who became the first woman with a disability to compete in Miss USA.

Hope's mother says it's a pageant that showcases what the girls can do, and she says it gave her daughter the chance to go shopping, get dressed up and show the world her smile.

"The title of the pageant says it all, you can do it. If you have a dream, go for it. It doesn't matter if you a label or something that someone else would consider a disability. It's just a different ability, and even though some are obvious, others are not quite so obvious," Hope's mom, Nina Fuller says.

The documentary airs Monday night at 8:00 central time on HBO.
