OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

Owensboro Police are asking for your help finding a man who raped a woman at knife point over the weekend.

Sunday morning around 2:30, police responded to a call on the 1200 block of W. 7th St.

A woman told officers that a stranger carrying a knife entered her apartment at approximately 1:50 a.m. and sexually assaulted her.

Detectives are asking for help from the community in identifying the suspect.

There is not a lot of information to go on right now; the woman says he was a "clean shaven" black male, in his 40's, with a medium build (between 6 feet 3 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall) and buzzed hair.

If you have any information about this incident or this suspect you can contact police at 687-8888, or leave an anonymous tip on the Crime Stoppers tip line at 687-8484.
