Lt. Governor weighs in on Posey Co. fertilizer plant

Indiana's Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann brings her listen and learn tour to Posey County.

Ellsperman repeats the state's concern about the parent company of the proposed fertilizer plant in the county.

Ellspermann says while she and Governor Mike Pence are pleased with the jobs that will be created, the state is still waiting for confirmation that the Pakistani-based Fatima Group is working on a less volatile substance in its fertilizer that's allegedly been used in IED's in Afghanistan.

Ellsperman says the state is now focused on those construction and permanent jobs.

"Governor and I are very committed to job creation in Indiana and we look forward to supporting the local community on their desires to grow jobs," Ellsperman says.

On the future of the New Harmony Bridge, Ellsperman says Indiana has already agreed to put up about $10 million to repair the bridge that's been closed for over a year.
