Longest day of play event raising money for Alzheimer's Association

The Evansville Duplicate Bridge Club is in the middle of a Marathon Day of Bridge.

It's part of the first ever longest day of play event which is raising money for the Alzheimer's Association.

Players started the first game at 5 on Friday morning and will continued to play at 8:30 Friday night. Participants have raised money from friends and family, but the club is hoping the public will come and support them as well.

Organizers tell us there is a reason the Bridge Club was chosen.

"It's the North American Bridge contract league," says Lon Bell. "They partnered with Alzheimer's in order to promote bridge as an activity to keep your mind active to help prevent the onset of Alzheimer's."

If you would like to support them, the Bridge Club is located at the corner of Green River Road and Covert Avenue.
