BAY VILLAGE, OH (WOIO) -

A drunk driver has been charged after losing control and plowing into a home in Bay Village.

It happened just before noon on June 11 in the 27000 block of Aberdeen Road.

"I saw the car into the house and I didn't see and skid marks.  So, I don't think he even hit the brakes.  He was wedged in there pretty well," said neighbor Chris Barrow.  He did not see the accident happen.

The driver of the vehicle, Florin Constaninescu, was transported to St. John Medical Center. Preliminary blood results indicated a blood alcohol level in excess of 0.40 - that is fives times the legal limit in Ohio.

Police say Constaninescu, who had knee surgery a few weeks ago was apparently trying to dull his pain with alcohol.

Constaninescu has been charged with OVI, reckless operation and failure to control.
