As Tropicana Evansville celebrates it's new branding, Casino officials announce plans for two new businesses in the district.
Tropicana Officials tell 14 News that the building that formerly houses Stoney's will be split into two parts: The Sports Book Bar and Grill on the left, and Boogie Nights Dance Club on the right.
Brand owner Dave Pena says every weekend at Boogie Nights is like a step back in the 70's and 80's.
"Everything you remember, the first time MTV went on the air, the first kiss you had, listening to REO Speedwagon," says Pena.
Pena says the dance club will employ people from Evansville and will feature fun 70's and 80's characters, and traveling celebrity impersonators.
"We really wanted something that would add to the entertainment appeal of our property," says Ward Shaw.
Tropicana Evansville General Manager Shaw says the Sports Book Grill and Bar will be right next door.
"In the vain of sort of a traditional Vegas sports book with every sport imaginable on various screens around the outlet," says Shaw.
To kick off the new Tropicana Evansville brand on Friday, officials gave tours of the newly renovated Tropicana hotel rooms, and the spacious presidential suite, complete with living room, kitchen, even it's own hot tub.
Shaw says a complete renovation is also ahead for Max and Erma's. All exciting changes, especially for Pena, who says Evansville is a place Boogie Nights is excited to call home.
"We love it here in Evansville," says Pena. "The space is incredible, and I guarantee you, when you see it, you're going to be blown away."
Shaw says Sports Book and Boogie Nights are expected to open Fall 2013.
