Nearly 400 rabbits removed from Indianapolis garage

A shocking discovery was made in Indianapolis when nearly 400 rabbits were found living in cages in a garage.

"It's a health hazard to the animals. We don't know how many are pregnant or getting ready to have. We did find some very small look like they were a few days old," says Marcus Brown with animal care and control.

Neighbors say the stench became too much, so they turned the owners in.

Animal control officials say they first learned about the rabbits last month, but gave the owners a chance to clean up the mess.

No word on whether the owners will be facing any charges.

Animal control is evaluating the condition of the rabbits and will monitor their recovery for possible adoption.
