Portland International Airport resumed normal operations Wednesday morning after a late-night security scare caused some problems for travelers.
No flights at the airport were ever affected, but a suspicious bag did lead to interruptions in MAX service and traffic backups on Interstate 205.
Police and the bomb squad were called out to the airport at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday after a backpack was found sitting on a bench.
The response led police to close off a large section of the baggage claim area.
A bomb squad member wearing protective gear looked into the backpack, and didn't find any explosives.
