Emergency officials prepare for Shrinersfest

Shrinersfest in Evansville is just over two weeks away and emergency officials throughout the Tri-State gathered Tuesday morning to run through all possible emergency scenarios.

15 different agencies including the Coast Guard, Homeland Security, SWAT teams and air traffic controllers are involved in event security.

Officials say they will have cameras on downtown buildings, officers in the sky, and have emergency evacuation shelters.

Officials say although they haven't had any significant problems in the past, they want to be prepared for any catastrophic event.

"We look at scenarios of bombings. We look at scenarios of shootings. We look at scenarios of fights, crowd control issues, anything that we can possibly think of. We are trying to prepare for all agencies to be involved with so they know what their role is if something occurs," says Sgt. Rick Hubbard with the Evansville Police Department.

The Shrinersfest kicks off on Friday, June 28 with a car show and beer garden.
