A piece of Roberts Stadium can be yours forever

Want a piece of Roberts Stadium that can be yours forever?

The City of Evansville gave the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation 1,500 bricks from the stadium that are now in storage.

In the fall, the EVSC says it plans to sell the bricks as part of a fundraiser for schools' athletic offices.

You can have names and dates, or other brief memories from the stadium etched onto the bricks with a laser.

"The city had the foresight to save some of these bricks back because they knew people would want a history of Roberts Stadium," says Paul Neidig, EVSC's Chief Administration Officer. "What better way to take a venue such as Roberts Stadium that had all those great contests from the University of Evansville and great athletic tradition, and be able to support our local athletic programs with the bricks from that facility."

Details, like the price of the bricks, are still being worked out.

When school starts back up, you'll be able to place orders for the bricks through the athletic offices at the EVSC's high schools.
