Taking A Stand: Local art is alive in the Tri-State

Bob Zasadny, a local artist, takes this stand-

Summer is almost here and the arts are alive throughout the Channel 14 viewing area. Welcoming this bright new season, there are outdoor and indoor events displaying the work of talented artists that live and work here.

The experience of meeting these artists in person provides insight into their thought and work and broadens your cultural connection to the arts.

We also have a wonderful museum filled with unique exhibits that, I believe are second to none.

Also, you can find galleries and shops throughout the area. They include original works of art at affordable prices. That means income for the local artists and local businesses, and there's something in it for you too.

Purchasing original art will give you a sense of well-being, knowing that you played an important role in supporting the work of local artists. Who knows, you might even wind up making a wise investment in the next world famous artist.

A lot of effort is put into all of these activities and, trust me, you will be richly rewarded if you take the time to participate!
