Downtown Princeton, Inc. will officially be designated as a Main Street Community on June 6.
Indiana Main Street will host a certificate presentation at the gazebo located in the northwest corner of the Gibson County Courthouse lawn, beginning at 9 a.m.
Indiana Main Street is a program that encourages the revitalization and restoration of downtown areas in Indiana cities and towns. It also provides technical assistance and educational opportunities to participating communities.
Downtown Princeton, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization with the ultimate goals of developing a thriving downtown by attracting prosperous businesses and encouraging people to visit the downtown area to attend various entertainment events.
Indiana Main Street is a program coordinated to the National Main Street Center, developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and administered by the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA).
There are currently 112 other Indiana Main Street communities.
