Evansville Habitat for Humanity marks $1 million milestone

Evansville's Habitat for Humanity has reached its $1 million milestone.

A press conference with Mayor Lloyd Winnecke will be held on Wednesday, June 5, to celebrate the organization's achievement.

The event will be held at 1748 South Morton Avenue, at the corner of Morton and Sweetser avenues, and the announcement will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Habitat for Humanity of Evansville has been working since 1984 to assist low-income families in the process of becoming homeowners by providing access to affordable housing.

"This milestone announcement is not only a celebration for Habitat, but the community at-large," said Lori Reed, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Evansville. "We look forward to sharing the details this Wednesday with Mayor Winnecke, whose administration has been highly supportive of our mission and vision here locally."

This event will mark a major milestone at Habitat for Humanity of Evansville thanks to over 400 hard-working Habitat partner families in the local community.
