Body found in vacant Evansville home was there "for 6-7 months" - 14 News, WFIE, Evansville, Henderson, Owensboro

UPDATE: Body found in vacant Evansville home was there "for 6-7 months"

The Vanderburgh County coroner tells 14 News the body found on Culverson Ave. was inside the vacant home for 6-7 months. No foul play suspected. No ID yet.

That body was found by a group of neighbors looking around inside the house on Culverson Avenue.

Neighbors tell 14 News that they discovered the body a week ago at a home on Culverson Avenue, but waited until Friday night to call police. They say they went in the home last Saturday because it's been vacant for several years and they were interested in purchasing it. According to the neighbors, the home was unlocked so they went inside and the home seemed empty.

They say as they walked in, the saw a wallet and some keys and then came to the body lying on the floor. Three days later that same neighbor took a friend to the home. They say one man stood at the door, the other went in to investigate, and what he saw nearly terrified him.

Right now, because of the condition of the body, investigators cannot determine if foul play was involved.
