Come down and improve your driving habits today in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) -

If you're an older driver looking to sharpen your skills on the road, there's a class for you that's happening today in Kentucky.

The AARP Driver Safety Program runs from 12:30 until 4:30 this afternoon at the Elizabeth Munday Senior Center, which is located on West 2nd Street in Owensboro.

This is basically a driver-refresher course for anyone age 50 and older.

It runs through the changes that happen in vision, hearing, and reaction time that people might notice on the road as they get older.

The course also covers some useful safety tips for successfully dealing with these changes.

Since dangerous situations on the roads can happen at any time, you'll learn some strategies to safely get through those incidents.

If you're more of a visual learner, don't worry.

The class is taught with discussion and videos.

Organizers say that no testing is required with this class.

It's just an opportunity to improve your driving habits.

The course costs $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members.

Organizers say you're still more than welcome to register for today's class.

It's easy to sign up...just call 270-687-4640.
