14 News has learned the name of the victim in the Princeton shooting that killed one mother.
Jesica Tice was shot and killed in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in Princeton. According to the Gibson County Coroner, Barrett Doyle, there were two gunshot wounds. One to the arm and another on the side of Tice's head.
Princeton Police Chief W.W. George says the suspect who police believe to be the Tice's ex-boyfriend, shot her as she and her 13-year-old son were walking towards Los Aztecas from their vehicle.
The chief says that this incident followed a situation on Wednesday at Princeton Community Middle School's 8th grade graduation.
We're told, at first Perry was denied entry because the family did not want him there and the organizers thought there was a restraining order against him. When they found out there was not a restraining order he was allowed to attend.
He apparently found out the family was going for a post graduation meal at Los Aztecas and met them there.
After the shooting, the suspect drove away in a brown Dodge and ended up running from police on foot through the Gibson County Fairgrounds towards Cargill.
The Princeton Daily Clarion says police searched the Gibson County Fairgrounds property, weapons drawn, looking for Perry in animal stalls near the livestock pavilion, but took him into custody in the front lawn of 1002 North Embree Princeton.
