Step inside a moveable music studio today in Owensboro

OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - If you've ever "imagined" yourself inside a music studio on wheels, you can make that dream a reality today in Owensboro.

Everyone is more than welcome to come explore the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. at Smothers Park.

It's a non-profit, state-of-the-art audio and video recording studio that's completely on wheels.

The bus travels around the country with the goal of making music accessible to young people.

It also promotes John Lennon's message of peace and goodwill.

Inside the bus, three on-board engineers help students learn how to write, perform, and record original songs and even shoot short music videos, all within just one day.

Lots of artists have recorded on the bus as well, including the Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake.

The bus is in its 16th year and uses the latest technology and equipment for production.

To mark the occasion, Downtown Date Night is hosting a special songwriter's performance tonight at 7 p.m. down at the riverfront.

It's free, and everyone is welcome to attend.

This visit also celebrates Owensboro Music Center's 40th anniversary, which helped coordinate today's tours.
