Yankees RHP Kuroda leaves with injury

Posted: Updated:

New York Yankees pitcher Hiroki Kuroda has left a game against the Baltimore Orioles because of an injury.

Kuroda gave up a third-inning single to Chris Davis before grimacing near the mound in pain. After a conference that involved a trainer and Yankees manager Joe Girardi, Kuroda walked off the field.

Earlier, the right-hander was struck in the leg by a line drive off the bat of Manny Machado. Kuroda stayed in the game, but that injury did not appear to be related to the one that ended his night, which appeared to have something to do with the upper torso.

Kuroda pitched two-plus innings before leaving. He gave up five runs and eight hits, including two homers.
