A special event is happening in Owensboro that honors all veterans and their sacrifices.
The majority of it will take place at the Shelton Memorial in Smothers Park tonight.
Organizers say it will actually span several locations.
At 6 p.m., everyone will meet at Moonlite Bar-B-Q on West Parrish Avenue.
According to organizers, a police escort will then lead the group from the restaurant as it rides downtown.
Once everyone arrives at the Shelton Memorial, the service will begin.
There will be several speakers, as well a moment to honor POW's and those who are MIA from Kentucky and Indiana.
Veterans who have fought in recent wars and those who are currently on active duty are more than welcome to attend.
This is the first time in several years that Rolling Thunder has been able to hold the event at the Shelton Memorial, since Smothers Park was under construction.
This weekend, Rolling Thunder members from all over the county will gather in Washington, D.C. for the annual "Ride for Freedom."
It's estimated that more than 500,000 motorcycles participate.
If it rains tonight, organizers say the ceremony will be moved inside at the VFW just down the street.
