Home grown produce to arts and crafts will all be available at a business coming to Owensboro.
Maria Kelly says five years ago she shared a dream with a friend about opening up her own business in downtown Owensboro. Through hard work, prayer, and determination she is making that dream a reality.
"When we thought about people living downtown and we thought what was missing...we knew a market need to be there," said Maria Kelly, Nona's Downtown Market Owner.
Kelly will be opening up a Kentucky Proud market in downtown Owensboro called Nona's Downtown Market. The business will sell products that are made in Owensboro and in the state.
"We are excited to be able to bring local fresh produce and just pottery makers, flowers, fish, everything we can think of that's from local Kentucky to our community," said Kelly.
Kelly says her business plan has been getting support from the agricultural department in Frankfort and local politicians.
"We have so many amazing people in Kentucky who are crafts people and original venders who love to farm so it's a great opportunity to show case Kentucky to the world," said Rosemary Conders, a downtown Owensboro property owner.
Nona's Downtown Market is expected to be opened at the end of this year.
