ISU's next president praised by students, faculty

People who know soon-to-be Illinois State University President Timothy Flanagan say he's engaged and involved with the campus he now leads and the town where he lives.

Flanagan is now the president at Framingham State University in Massachusetts. He'll take over at Illinois State for the retiring Al Bowman in August.

Bob Halpin is town manager in Framingham. He told The Pantagraph newspaper in Bloomington ( ) that Flanagan worked with the town on a revitalization project and made a good partner. 

Hanna Bruce is the student government president at Framingham State. She says Flanagan walks around campus and talks with students.

And associate professor Carl Hakansson said Flanagan is very hands-on in his work at the Massachusetts campus. Hakansson said he'll miss Flanagan.
