Cool Early Week, but Warming Trend Coming

10°-15° Cooler than NormalLows this morning have fallen into the 40s in Upstate towns with 30s in Western NC towns.  "Normal" or average overnight lows for this time of year would be 56° (Upstate) and upper 40s to near 50° for Western NC.

Comfortable Afternoon:  Sunshine from start to finish will allow for a quick warm-up today as temperatures reach the upper 60s in the Upstate & NE Georgia.  In Western North Carolina, temperatures will range between 60° and 65° by late afternoon.  This means day-time highs will be about 10° below the norm for this time of year.

Chilly Overnight:  A clear sky and light north breeze will translate into more chilly conditions tonight and early on Tuesday.  The Upstate can expect the 40s to begin the day and 30s is where temperatures will start for Western NC.

Tuesday:  Even though we'll start the tomorrow on the cool side, a mostly sunny sky will warm us up very quickly.  Still, highs will remain cooler than average.  Expect middle 70s for Upstate towns and upper 60s in Western NC.

Warmer Late WeekA change in the upper-level pattern will take place by Wednesday and Thursday as a weak ridge of high pressure and slower winds move overhead.  This will mean that our afternoon temperatures will climb into the low-middle 80s (Upstate) and upper 70s (Western NC)

Once we warm up and add a bit more humidity to the air, a few scattered storms will return.  Although, there won't be much rain to go around later this week.
