Coroner IDs 3 of 4 victims shot dead in S. Indiana

Posted: Updated:

A coroner is releasing the names of three of the four people found shot to death in a southern Indiana home.

Bartholomew County Coroner Larry Fisher says the dead include homeowner Katheryn Burton of Waynesville, an unincorporated town about 50 miles south of Indianapolis. She was 53 or 54 years old.

Fisher says two of the three men found dead in her home were Aaron Cross and Thomas Smith, both around 40 years old.

Fisher says the name of the third man who was killed was being withheld until relatives could be notified.

Bartholomew County Sheriff Mark Gorbett said a resident of the home returning from work Saturday night called police to the home. Officers found the three men in the living room and Burton in a bedroom.
