MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) -

Three observant men on the Pennyrile Parkway were able to locate a missing woman because of a 14 News app alert they received.

Dwayne Nesmith, Terry Dockery, and Kenny Gross received a 14 News notification for a Golden Alert issued for 71-year-old Marilyn Sue Horen. She suffers from Alzheimer's and had been reported missing in Madisonville hours earlier.

The men were driving, noticed the vehicle description, and followed her over 30-miles until law enforcement arrived.

"Had it not been for the 14 app and the alert that was sent out to us in Bardstown, three hours away, we would have had no idea anything was going on," says Nesmith.

Horen was safely transported by officers back to the Madisonville Police Department to wait for her family.
