Quincy Regional Airport saw an increase in passengers traveling to St. Louis this April compared with last April.
Airport Director Jeff Steinkamp tells The Quincy Herald-Whig (http://bit.ly/ZNwCOx) that the airport had a 12.2 percent increase. Cape Air has had about 3,200 outbound passengers so far this year. That's compared to about 2,900 through April of last year.
Quincy city officials say the numbers mean the airport should exceed last year's 10,120 passengers. That's important because the airport needs more than 10,000 passengers annually to qualify for $1 million in airport improvement grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
