Dawson Springs designated 'Trail Town'

The western Kentucky town of Dawson Springs has been designated a trail town.

The Messenger (http://bit.ly/13sT3bQ) reports it is the first town in the Commonwealth to receive the designation from state officials.

First lady Jane Beshear is expected to visit Dawson Springs on Thursday to recognize the community's achievement.

Councilwoman Rhonda Mills says the designation is expected to boost tourism, jobs and community involvement.

She says the city has several naturally occurring and previously established trails for walking, biking and hiking.
