It's been business as usual on Monday after a shooting at the east side Evansville Walmart on Sunday night.
Police say violent crime doesn't usually happen at businesses like Walmart, where a lot of people are out and about.
Sergeant Jason Cullum with EPD says Evansville is seeing more criminal activity than usual for this early in the year, and he says a growth in population could be partly to blame.
24-year-old Isaiah Green is facing one count of attempted murder and four counts of criminal recklessness. Police say that's one count for endangering each person in close proximity of that shooting. Cullum says the important thing to remember is just to be alert in public.
"They don't have to live in fear of what's going on but they should still be aware that the potential for violence can happen anywhere," Cullum advises. "There's no specific neighborhood that this can happen in. There's no specific business that this can happen in front of. So, you really just need to keep that in mind while you're out and about."
The condition of shooting victim 30-year-old Tavon Burns isn't being released right now.
