Christian County School leaders said an incident where a teacher became ill when hand sanitizer ended up in her coffee cup was likely an accident.
According to a school spokeswoman, the Hopkinsville Middle School teacher was sickened April 25.
The teacher did not miss any classes due to the incident, but did leave work early that day for an unrelated doctor's appointment that had been scheduled previously.
School officials said students had been questioned in the case but the investigation remained open.
The school system said the hand sanitizer container was situated near the teacher's coffee cup, and at this stage in the investigation, it appears the sanitizer got into the teacher's cup by accident.
