Highway 56 is back open after crews cleared the scene of a semi accident in Daviess County.
Owensboro Dispatch told 14 News that Highway 56 was shut down to a semi accident that was called in around 7:30 Saturday morning.
Daviess County Sheriff's Office said the semi ran off the road and rolled over on its side in the 6000 block of Highway 56, near 279 and Lyddane Bridge Road.
The driver, who is from Bowling Green, Ky, told deputies he was eastbound on Highway 56 when he hydroplaned on the wet road. He said he swerved to the right to avoid hitting oncoming traffic. This caused the semi to leave the roadway.
The driver was not injured in the accident.
The roadway was closed for about 2 and a half hours while crews worked to clear the scene.
