The downtown Princeton area will host its first Outdoor Sports Expo tomorrow. The preparations began this morning and they will continue into tonight.
The expo will include archery demonstrations, wild game cooking presentations, and two safety classes, one on boat safety and one on gun safety. It will also feature 25 to 30 vendors and a "You Sell It" section filled with RVs, four wheelers, and boats.
The free event is made possible by the stellar grant that Princeton received last year. The grant, which will expire after three years, is being used by the city to improve the entire downtown area.
Greg Goodson, an event chairman for the Outdoor Sports Expo, would like to make the downtown area a more attractive place for the residents. His goal is to introduce one or two new events to the area every year.
"The real thing is to get people downtown," said Goodson. "We are trying to get different segments of the population used to coming downtown again. We are doing a lot of remodeling and revitalizing here."
The Outdoor Sports Expo will start tomorrow at 9am and it will end at 4pm. It will occur regardless of the weather conditions.
