TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

After releasing that suspects attempted to lure a 7-year-old girl into their vehicle with promises of a puppy Wednesday, Toledo Police now say the incident did not happen.

Toledo Police circulated a police report Thursday stating a man in the back seat of a pick-up truck had told a girl he had a puppy for her. Police said the girl ran inside her home and told her mother, who called police.

After investigation, police say the truck was in the area doing landscaping work. Police say the workers were discussing a puppy in the back seat, and that the girl overheard them. Police say the men never approached the girl or talked to her.
