Take a look at these pictures as Dome Technology crews inflate a giant three story balloon on the south side of the Evansville Museum.
Crews started inflating the balloon around 7 a.m. Friday morning. Work was originally scheduled to start Thursday afternoon but was pushed back.
After the balloon is ready, the company, based out of Idaho, will spray a layer of polyurethane on it so that it will harden and keep its shape.
Once that hardens, they will eventually spray a thick concrete slurry that will become the dome.
When finished the dome will be an immersive theater.
This is all part of the $14 million Evansville Museum expansion, which is set to be complete sometime January 2014.
