A record $7-million worth of hunting and fishing licenses were sold in April in Kentucky.
Fish and wildlife officials credit a smart phone app for ease of access to purchasing licenses, as well as sportsman's packages which allow people to save money while buying multiple licenses.
"I think it was because the weather was a lot better this year than it was last year, so people who may have missed out on it last year because of the extreme heat, a lot better temperatures, a lot more reason to go out," says Josh Gunn.
The record is $800,000 more than previous April sales record.
