If you drive by the Evansville Museum on Thursday, you may see a rather unusual sight, a three story inflated balloon. It's all part of the museum expansion.
To put up that dome, they will have to inflate a giant balloon and fill in the concrete around it.
This is being done by a company out of Idaho called Dome Technology.
The balloon will be 36 feet tall and 65 feet wide.
Once it's up the company will spray polyurethane foam inside the dome balloon so it will keep it shape.
Once that hardens, they will eventually spay concrete slurry inside of that.
This is scheduled to start Thursday afternoon, but officials tell us it might be pushed back a little.
The dome will become an immersive theater. Two projectors will show a seamless image on the ceiling around you.
This is part of the museum renovation. It's scheduled to open by January 2014.
