Authorities have released the names of the individuals involved in a two vehicle wreck in Spencer County on State Road 66 between Grandview and Troy.

Authorities say it happened around 7:30 a.m.

Officials say it involved a car and a pickup truck and say two medical helicopters were called to the scene.

Rescue workers had to work to free the driver of the car, 41-year-old Jeffery Lucas, of Tell City, but they were finally able to get him free. Officials tell 14 News Lucas was taken to a waiting medical helicopter and flown to University of Louisville hospital.

Authorities say the driver of the pickup, 20-year-old Matthew Gallagher, of Tell City, was taken by medical helicopter to St. Mary's in Evansville.

Right now, the extent of their injuries is unknown.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The road was closed north of Grandview on SR 66 while crews worked the scene, but has since been reopened.

Agencies responding to the scene included the Spencer County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police, Grandview and Chrisney Fire Departments.
