Superintendent candidates will meet the public tonight in O'boro

Posted: Updated:

You're invited to meet the three candidates vying to be the next superintendent of Owensboro Public Schools.

Tonight's public forum will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the OPS Central Office on Griffith Avenue in Owensboro.

Each of the three finalists will have 35 to 40 minutes to respond to questions concerning all areas within the school district.

Parents, students, staff, officials, and residents are welcome to attend.

As we told you earlier this month, the three candidates looking to replace Dr. Larry Vick are Nick Brake, who's president and CEO of the Owensboro Economic Development Corporation, Rob Clayton, who's principal at South Oldham Middle School, and Mark Owens, who's director of personnel with Daviess County Public Schools.

After tonight's meeting, the Board of Education will review all information and begin conducting interviews with the candidates.

According to officials, a new superintendent should be chosen sometime in May.

We'll continue to keep you posted and bring you any updates.
