Public invited to attend skate park meeting in Owensboro

Posted: Updated:

A public meeting's taking place in Owensboro tonight to gather input on the soon-to-be new skate park.

Its future home will be in Chautauqua Park, just off of East Parrish Avenue in Owensboro.

Tonight's meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. on the fourth floor of City Hall.

Its purpose is to explain the process in terms of design and construction for the park.

Officials also plan to release a tentative building timeline.

They're seeking public input from the people who will use the park the most.

The city and the designers want to know what that group would like to see to help enhance their plans.

Earlier this month, we told you that Spohn Ranch will build Owensboro's skate park.

According to the city, that firm has built more than 500 skate parks.

At tonight's meeting, you'll get to hear from several members of the company as they talk about specific parts of the future park.
