Non-profit group committed to I-67 project

A non-profit group has committed 10,000 to the Interstate 67 Development Corporation, in the hopes of getting an interstate highway through the area.

The proposal was submitted in October when they completed a feasibility study. Local officials recently went to Washington D.C. to tell congress they needed an improved highway corridor.

They are hoping the interstate will be on INDOT's list of high priority corridors, that will be decided at the end of the year.

Officials say the proposed I-67 would upgrade part of US 231 and a new 38 mile section of road would be constructed east of the current highway to I-69 in Washington.

The road would run to Owensboro before continuing onto I-65 in Bowling Green.

It's that time of year again, We're only a few days into Fall but Fall allergy season is in full swing. We talked with allergy and immunology doctor, Dr. Majed Koleilat, at Deaconess today.
