NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A serial burglary suspect is accused of breaking into a restaurant and another charity business to steal money from the less fortunate.

The suspect, Johnny L. Parson, 57, is accused of breaking into the McDonald's in the 4700 block of Charlotte Avenue on April 14.

Police said Parson took money set aside for the Ronald McDonald fund.

On April 25, investigators said Parson broke into nearby Ed Lindsey Industries for the Blind and took items including a Hoover vacuum cleaner.

Surveillance cameras at both businesses caught the thief going in and out of the businesses at the time of the break-ins.

Parson was found walking with the vacuum cleaner but told police he found it on some train tracks.
