(RNN) - The online marketplace website LivingSocial is the latest victim of cyber hacking.
The 50 million customers of the local daily deals website received emails from the company saying that they needed to reset their passwords.
"We recently experienced a cyberattack on our computer systems that resulted in unauthorized access to some customer date from our servers," LivingSocial CEO Tim O'Shaughnessy said in an internal memo obtained by the website Mashable.
The compromised data includes encrypted passwords, names, dates of birth and email addresses of customers. LivingSocial said customers' credit card information and the financial information of merchants using the site has not been affected.
The email sent to customers said "we are actively working with law enforcement to investigate this issue."
According to USA Today, all of the countries that Living Social is in were compromised except Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and the Philippines.
LivingSocial has not had a great year - the company lost $650 million last year, despite earning $536 million in revenue, according to Mashable. In February, investors helped raise $110 million in financing.
Other websites that have recently been compromised in a cyberattack include LinkedIn, Evernote and Zappos.
The website helps customers find deals within their local areas and has more than 70 million members worldwide.
LivingSocial is a Washington D.C.-based company that is 29 percent owned by Amazon.
